TD Ameritrade Offers Commission Free ETF’s

TDAmeritrade, in a battle against the likes of Vanguard and Fidelity has launched a commssion free ETF program to their customers.

The are toting that they have over 100 different ETF’s that you can trade for no commission. You can choose from popular ETF’s from iShares, Vanguard, StateStreet, Powershares and more.

The only catch with this deal is that you must hold the ETF’s for at least 30 days, if you sell one within the 30 day window you will be charged a short-term trading fee.

What is great about this deal is that accounts at TDAmeritrade are free. There are no minimum balances or activity fees. So if you are solely going to invest in the free ETF’s, you cost of investing is $0. Not a bad way to get some money into the market for no cost whatsoever.

TDAmeritrade is a full service discount broker, so any other stock trade will cost you $9.99 per trade. If you don’t currently have a broker or are looking to switch, this ETF deal can make you pull the trigger.

$999 In Free Trades From TD Ameritrade

 TDAmeritrade is offering $999 worth of free trades if you open an account by 7/31/08. Here are the details:

• You must open a new individual (non-IRA) or joint account by 7/31/08
• You must transfer at least $2000 into the new account to receive the free trades
• $999 of free trades = 100 Commission Free Trades.
• Free Trades must be used in 60 days from opening the account
• Bonus: If you transfer more than $50,000 into the new account you will also receive a Garmin nüvi 660 GPS Navigator

Suze Orman is offering a $100 bonus when opening a “Save Yourself Account”.

When you open a Save Yourself account by March 31, 2008, you will receive a $100 bonus for making 12 monthly automatic deposits of at least $50 each. After 12 consecutive months of electronic deposits, TD AMERITRADE will verify that the deposits have been made and add $100 to your account. . Free Trades for 30 days from TDAmeritrade

TDAmeritrade has added an additional offer to current promo (see post) where you can receive free trading for 30 days when opening an account with $2000 or more. They limit the number of free trades to 500, which is a lot. That is over 16 trades a day. They still have the $100 bonuses as well if you deposit over $50,000.
