If you are a current Bank of America credit card holder, then you are in luck! You can get up to a $220 bonus when you open a new checking account with them.

Here is how it works. You must open a new person checking account online by 12/4/2010 using the offer code: CHC220OL. You can open their free MyAccess Checking account to qualify for this promo. There are no fees on this account when you set up direct deposit. Since that is a requirement to get the $100 part of the bonus, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Once you establish direct deposit, you will receive a $100 statement credit. You must get the direct deposit going within the first 3 months of your account opening.

The rest of the bonus ($120) is paid out $20 increments when you pay your Bank of America Credit Card from your new checking account. You will receive $20 / month for 6 months each time you make that payment.

Your statement credit(s) will be applied to your credit card account within 60 days after the date of each qualifying transaction, provided that both your credit card and checking accounts are open and in good standing.

A $220 bonus is one of the larger bank bonuses that I have seen in a long time. If you are a current Bank of America credit card holder, then you should definitely jump in on this one.

Take a look at the Bank of America Promo page for more details!

Budgetcents has found a new Chase promo where you can get a $100 bonus when opening a new Chase Checking Account.

To qualify for the bonus you need to open the account with a minimum of $100. Then within 60 calendar days of opening the account you need to either have one direct deposit, or five debit card purchases posted to your account. The cash bonus will be deposited into your new account within 10 business days after the initial direct deposit or five debit card purchases have posted to your account.

You can either open the account online via the Chase Promo Page, or on that page you can generate a $100 coupon to your email which you can take into a branch to open the account in person.

Don’t forget that the Chase Checking account requres at least one direct deposit for 5 debit card transactions each month to avoid a $6 monthly fee. (ATM withdrwals are excluded)

This is a pretty good deal for a free $100. The 5 debit card transactions are easy to pull off every month especially if you make this your primary checking account,

You have probably seen the TV commercials on this one, but I though I would post it anyway. The $100 Bank of America Checking bonusis back. This offer is available for both personal and business checking accounts.

You will get $75 when you open a new qualifying personal or business checking account with a $250 deposit and make a purchase with your debit card. You can then get an additional $25 when you make 2 online bill payments within 30 days of the account opening. Business checking customers can pay 2 bills with Bank of America’s Small Business Online Banking Bill Pay service or use the Online Business Suite Direct Payments service.

Note the promo codes that need to be entered:
Personal Accounts – WIWGASINT
Business Accounts – SBECASH

In the small print of the offer it says that your bonus can be given to you in two ways. They may deposit the money into the new account you just opened, or you may receive a check by mail. Not sure why they would mail a check, but it may have to do with tax reasons for the business accounts.

Beware of fees on their checking accounts. My suggestion would be to open a MyAccess checking account which has no fees or minimum balances.

HSBC has added a couple of Account Opening Bonuses for their Checking and Savings accounts.

HSBC is offering some new account bonuses.

Get $50 when you open a Premium Money Market Plus Savings Account with a qualifying deposit. To qualify for $50, you must open a Premium Money Market Plus Savings Account with an initial deposit of $1,500 of new money by 7/31/08. Their is a tiered interest rate on this account with the lowest being .20% for balances less than $15,000.

get $25 when you open a Regular Savings Account with a qualifying deposit and sign up for automatic transfer. To qualify for the $25, you must open a Regular Savings Account with an initial deposit of $500 of new money by 7/31/08. The current interest rate on this account is 0.10% for balances greater than $100.

Check out the Bonus Page for more details.

Unless you are putting millions into these accounts (why would you want to), the interest rate is pretty pathetic. Just open these accounts for the bonuses. Not sure why they are promoting these accounts since their Online Savings Account is getting 3.5% APY right now. I guess they are banking on the fact that people don’t know about it.

You can use a monthly deposit from ING Direct or Paypal to satisfy the recurring depoist requirement if you do not want to go through the hassle of setting up direct deposit.
