Citi Forward Card – 11,000 Citi Reward Points
May 21, 2009
Citibank has a new card out called the Citi Forward Card. They are advertising this card as the “get rewarded for good credit credit card”. When you make a purchase, stay under your credit limit, and pay on time for three consecutive billing cycles, they reduce your APR. The small print reads that you can get this reduction 8 times or a max of up to a 2% reduction in your APR throughout the time your account is open with them. If you tend to carry a balance, this may be attractive to you.
For the rest of us, what is attractive, is that they are giving 11,000 Citi Thank You points when you apply for the card and sign up for paperless statements within 3 months of openening the account. These points can be redeemed for a $100 gift card for various retailers in the Citi Thank You Network.
You also receive 5 reward points for every $1 you spend on books, movies, music and at restaurants. 1 reward point for every $1 you spend on other purchases. So what is great about this card is that you are now getting 5% back from Amazon.com since they are labeled as a “book store”. In addition you earn 100 points each billing period when you pay on time and stay under your credit line.
There is no annual fee for this card and they are offering a 0% APR for 6 months on purchases and balance transfers. Keep in mind that Citibank charges fees for balance transfers, so the 0% on purchases is a better deal here.
The Citi Forward Card seems like a decent reward card especially if you pay your bills on time. It is definetly worth a look if you are wanting a new credit card. See more details here.

Get a $25 statement credit after your first purchase using the True Earnings Costco Card from American Express.
The True Earnings Costo American Express is a cash rebate card which also will act as your Costo Membership Card. Remember that Costco only accepts American Express credit cards, so this one will allow you to shop with it and earn cash back on Costco purchases.

Other Benefits of the card:
No Fee Balance Transfer Credit Card
January 19, 2009
You thought those no fee balance transfer cards were extinct right? Well I was able to locate one after spending hours tying to find a place to move $5000 that is on a Citibank 0% balance transfer that is about to expire.
Simmons First Bank is offering a new credit card that gives you a balance transfer of 0% for six months with no fee. After the six months the rate goes up to a respectable 8.95%, which is the standard interest rate on the card.
Some other benefits of this card are:
- No annaul fee on this card
- Travel Rewards program – earn 1 point per dollar on all purchases. The cardholder has their choice of any U.S. based airline, no black out dates, choice of ticket class, and no seating restrictions. Other travel related options are hotels, cruises, vacation packages, car rental, and restaurants
- Car Rental Insurance
- Travel Insurance
See the card details page for more information.
This has to be the last card I can find that offers a balance transfer with no fee. All other cards have at least a minimum 3% fee and many have no cap on that fee. I am definetly jumping in this to get another 6 months at 0%!
HSBC Weekend Card – Get 2% Cash Back on Weekends
November 14, 2008
HSBC has launched a new card called the “Weekend Card”. Essentially this card is a cash back card that earns you one percent back on purchases. This is pretty much similiar to all the other cards out there. What makes this card a little different is that any purchases made on the weekend will double your cash back from one percent to two percent.
There is no limit as to how much cash back you can earn with this card. The cash you earn can be redeemed in $25 increments.
As I have said before if you are using your credit card/debit card anyway, why not get some money back while doing it. Just be responsible and pay off that bill every month!
