This should direct you to the checking account promo screen. Just complete the account application, make a minimum deposit of $100, then setup direct deposit within 60 days of the account opening. (NOTE: You can use a credit card for the initial $100 funding. I used a credit card and made a deposit of $1000 so I could get the cash back from my card. You can get checks for this account, note that the initial order is not free. It will cost you around $20 if you want to order checks from them, but you can get them cheaper from Walmart and other online check printing sites.

$100 Bank of America Promo When Opening Checking A New Checking Account

Bank of America is giving out a $100 bonus when signing up for a MyAccess Checking Account. Bank of America’s MyAccess Checking account is free checking account with no direct deposit or minimum balance requirements.

To qualify for the checking account promo you need do the following:

• follow this link and open an MyAccess Checking Account by 11/30/09
• enter the bonus code AOU260909
• deposit at least $500 into the account within 30 days of account opening
• perform on transaction with your new BOA ATM/Debit Card

The $100 bonus will be paid out within 90 days of openening the checking account. This offer expires on 11/30/2009. Also they say that this is only for new customers, but in the small print it says, “The new customer is not eligible for this offer if they were a signer on a Bank of America checking account that was closed within the last three months”. So it looks like as long as you haven’t closed an account with them in the last 3 months, you should qualify. If you are in this situation, you may want to call them and ask first.

Costco Capital One High Yield Savings Plus Account Opening Bonus

If you have a Costco membership, you may consider the new Costco / Capital One Interest Plus Savings Account. I am not sure when exactly they started this account, but I just found out about it today.

Currently the rate is at 1.75% when you have $5000 or greater balance in your account which is a decent rate for the current economy,  however if you have an average balance of $15,000 you will receive a 10% quarterly bonus on your interest earned that quarter.

So for example if you deposit $15,000 for one year, you will receive the following:
$15,000 * 1.75% = $262.50 (regular interest)
$262.50 * 10% = $26.25 (10% bonus on interest earned)
for a total of $288.75 which is a 1.92% yield for the year!

And to sweeten the deal you will get a bonus when opening the account. Executive Members get a $65 Incentive, Gold Star and Business Members get a $25 Incentive – when you open your first account through Costco and deposit $5,000 within 30 days. The bonus will up your APY over 2% for that year.

This is a great deal if you are looking for a place to stash some cash and get a better than average interest rate.

1.75% APY High Yield Savings at Bank of Internet

As banks are dropping interest rates many of the online only banks are able to keep their interest rates up. Bank Of Internet has a competitive yield of 1.75% APY on their High Yield Savings account.

There is a minimum for $100 to open the accout, but after the account it opened there is no minimum balance or maintenance fees involved. There is an ATM card available for you to access your money via ATM’s.

Bank of Internet is FDIC insured up to $250,000 per account. Their FDIC certificate number is 35546.

I do not have an account with Bank of Internet and cannot comment on service, but after reading some reviews it appears that there are no major complaints. With this rate I may look into opening an account as all my current savings accounts are lower then 1.75%. If anyone out there has an account with them, please post a comment and let me know about their products.

WTDirect Promo – Up To $150 Bonus for New Account – August 2009

The bonus will be in addition to the 1.76% current APY that is being offered for money in this account. That is a pretty respectable rate considering the current market conditions. And don’t forget that WTDirect is FDIC insured, so no need to worry about moving your money here.

Budgetcents has found a new Chase promo where you can get a $100 bonus when opening a new Chase Checking Account.

To qualify for the bonus you need to open the account with a minimum of $100. Then within 60 calendar days of opening the account you need to either have one direct deposit, or five debit card purchases posted to your account. The cash bonus will be deposited into your new account within 10 business days after the initial direct deposit or five debit card purchases have posted to your account.

You can either open the account online via the Chase Promo Page, or on that page you can generate a $100 coupon to your email which you can take into a branch to open the account in person.

Don’t forget that the Chase Checking account requres at least one direct deposit for 5 debit card transactions each month to avoid a $6 monthly fee. (ATM withdrwals are excluded)

This is a pretty good deal for a free $100. The 5 debit card transactions are easy to pull off every month especially if you make this your primary checking account,
