I invested in Prosper and after three years have losses from high credit rated deadbeats. almost a third of the loans defaulted! Who is rating these people? The same people that regulated the banks? I consider the losses to be donations to criminals to keep them from the honest people.

Reason for keeping a local bank:
Sometimes you need more than $500 cash in a day. ATM withdrawal limit too low.

I was initially very happy with the service until I got a letter canceling my service about 3 months ago. Knowing that this must be a mistake, I attempted to call and straigthen thing sout but was given the run around. So I jusy said forget it… so I forgot it, until I realized that although I no longer have the service they have continued to bill me. I promptly called the service with my bank the line to fix this matter. The bank informed them that it had in fact been paid for the past 3 months, they denied it repeatedly. So where does that leave me. The service that I paid to protect my credit is in fact stealing from me, ironic huh. My bank is handling the matter but it is more than a bit frustrating. So please beware!!!

Did you know that traveling notaries are often needed in real estate closings? You make much more than $1 too! If you can handle the document signing process you can work as an independent contractor for a firm and make about $75 per gig!

Viva Stephanie!!

We must realize that Americans are the only first-world people in the world that insist on using the cheque (please note the proper English spelling. Not 'check' as in, Your 'check' engine light is on.) as a form of payment.

Let it be stated: The cheque is an archaic, cumbersome way to pay and be paid!

To back up Stephanie's comments; Cheque fraud is STILL the most prevalent form of theft in the US. Why? because it's still the easiest piece of paper to fake! Unlike debit/credit cards a lost cheque has ALL of your personal info, whether its deposited or not.

Also, did you know; If you receive a cheque and deposit it at your bank and that cheque turns out to be fake, the banks official policy is that; you as the depositor are in the best position to determine if a cheque is fraudulent or not. So I hope all you 'checkers' and 'check-ees' have brushed up on your cheque fraud forensics! If not, sorry for you, because the banks simply do not care. Banks have a six month (for domestic cheques) and 12 month (for foreign cheques) grace period in which to determine if a cheque is fraudulent or not. So if you depot a cheque from someone you think is trustworthy today, that cheque clears and you spend the money, then six months down the track the bank discovers that that cheque is in fact a fake, the bank will simply deduct the value of that cheque from you account without so much as an explanation. Again, sorry for you.

There is also absolutely no way to guarantee when a cheque you have written will be deposited, and/or posted to your account. Again, it's your responsibility as the depositor to guarantee the value of that cheque for the next six months.

I haven't even mentioned the bank fees and fines for bounced and returned cheques! $35 per cheque makes that little piece of paper pretty expensive and valuable!

I think you have forgotten that the cheque is nothing more than a promissory note, a fancy I.O.U., that is just as easily faked as it is written. Good luck sticking with it as the rest of the world moves forward!

I forgot this weekend was Presidents day. That explains why all the retail stores are having such a huge sales weekend. Is this coupon only for online purchases? Or can you go into Walgreens and still get ten dollars off a sixty dollar purchase?

I applied for my card a second time... I got a response, and now vey happy!!! All of the info that AV talked about I saw and started thinking I am glad for the restrictions, now understand where I am coming from... I received connection from Dave Ramsey who is the Guru Of Fin. Peace. The whole reason I am getting this card is to cut up my credit card at 19%, which by the way is secured. With the limitations that perkstreet has I will spend less but yet if I see a really good deal on a human hair wig that about $200 and I happen to be in the web site on their one day sale ... I pick it up for $40..
I started out with 10 bills I am down to 3 and only $9000 to go to being debt free... so I say to Perkstreet you go!!!! And a great big thank you for coming up with this idea for those of us who want to build a relationship with you for the long hall. God bless.
Forever Thankful
Livie
PS: People that actually respond from the company cool beans!
