TradeKing $50 New Account Bonus

To help celebrate National Friendship Day, Tradeking has a $50 refer a friend promo going on until August 31st.

To qualify for the free $50 bonus, you must open a regular brokerage account by August 31st, fund fund account with at least $1,000 within 30 days of opening the account, and make a minimum of one trade within 180 days of account opening. Tradeking is a discount broker that has a flat trading fee of $4.95 per trade. They have one of the lowest trading commissions out there. I have had an account with them for 2 years and have been very happy with their service as well as the trading features that they offer.

HSBC Extends Rate For Online Savings Account

HSBC is extending the interest rate of their Online Savings account until September 15th. The current rate 3.5% was supposed to expire in August, but from the lack of interest rate cutting by the Fed’s recently, HSBC has decided to keep the rate for another month. Hopefully we will see a trend in rising savings account rates again.

This account has one of the highest interest rates out there for a $1 minimum balance savings account. HSBC’s Online Savings account is free to open and requires only $1 for a minimum balance. There are no fees with this account. There is also an ACH transfer system that allows you to move money to and from your current checking account for free.

I currently have this account and having my emergency fund in it. Since I want my emergency fund in cash for easy access to it if I need it, I want it earning the highest rate possible, and currently this is it.

BANS Profit Update

BANS Profit Update - I just wanted to do a quick post regarding my success with Build A Niche Stores or BANS as it is commonly referred to. (What Is Bans?) I have just completed my second month and I am pretty surprised how much I have made for spending such little time on this. Bans are turning out to be easy ways to make money!

As of 5/31 I made $294.61 on 12 stores. I only added one more store since my last Bans Profit Update and it was a eBay UK Store. I thought since I was having some success with the 11 US stores, why not try one in the UK. The Build A Niche Stores Software comes with support for many different countries, so all I had to do was buy a .co.uk domain name from GoDaddy.comwhich ran around $10 for a year. Well so far, as you can see in the picture above that store has brought in $5.88 and I opened it on 5/20. So I am pretty happy with that.

My goal is really just to break even with each store just so I am not out any money doing this. Hosting for all 12 sites runs $10 per month at Hostgator.com.So assuming each store brings in .83 a month the hosting is covered and if that store brings in at least $18.96 I am break even with the cost of the domain name and hosting for that store for the year. Lets just say that with what I made this month, I have completely paid for all my stores domain names and hosting costs for the year and made $67 profit. So anything I make for the next 10 moths is pure profit. This is definetly easy ways to make money.

BANS has pretty much been a “set it and forget it” process for me. I spend about 20 minutes creating a site and then just let it sit there. It does take anywhere from 5-10 days for Google to add it to its search engine, but once it does that is when people start finding it and buying things.

I need to set aside some time to create more stores to see how much money I can really start making. Stay tuned as I will post more details in the coming months.
