Coinstar Promo: Free $10 When You Cash in $40

Coinstar is having a new holiday promotion where you can get $10 free when cashing in $40 worth of coins. You need to put that $40 on to a gift card for a participating partner and once you do that you will be eligible for another $10 gift card.

Usually I stay away from coinstar because they charge you 9% to just convert the change into cash. Why would I pay 9% when I can just go to my bank and have it done for free. However if they are going to throw in a free $10 without the 9% fee, I am in.

Currently you can earn the $10 bonus when cashing in $40 worth of coins to the following partners:
iTunes, Lowe’s, Borders, Rixty OnLine Gaming and Regal Cinemas and Amazon.com. According to the Coinstar Amazon Promo Page the promo will start 12/9 and the $10 can be used towards toys and games.

Once you cash in $40 or more, you will receive a promo code on your receipt. Come back to the Coinstar Promotion page and enter your promo code. You should receive the $10 gift card in one to two weeks.

Since you need to have the card mailed to you I am assuming that this bonus is only one per customer. Promo codes must be submitted by January 31, 2011 to be able to qualify for the bonus.

I will definetly be in for either the Lowes or Amazon $10 gift card. It is very nice of Coinstar to give us a little $10 present this year, don’t you think?

Hot Brokerage Promos

Since the market has turned around a bit many of the online brokerage sites are offering promos to get you to open an account. Now is not a bad time to start investing since the market is still of its highs from last year but seems to be rebounding a bit. Sure we still may be in for a rocky ride, but if you are investing in the long term, now is the perfect time to get going. $50 Tradeking Promo – May 2010

There is a new Tradeking Promotion this month where you can get a $50 bonus when opening a new account. This bonus is referral based so you need to receive a referral email from me to qualify for it.:

• Open a Tradeking brokerage account by completing the form on the Tradeking Promotions Page  or complete the form below with your email address.
• Open a new Tradeking account using the link in the email
• Deposit at least $1000 into the account and execute 1 trade
• Leave the referral money in the account for at least 6 months

Thats it, once the 6 months period is up you can do what you want with the 50 bonus. Not a bad 5% return if you deposit only the requred $1000. Also keep in mind that you can refer others as well once your account is opened. You will receive a $50 referral bonus when you friend opens an account. That friend will receive the $50 as well. There is no limit to how much you can make here.

If I already didn’t have a tradeking account, you bet I would be in on this one!

$64.62 LendingClub Bonus

If you are looking to start getting into the P2P (person to person) lending game, LendingClub is offering a $64.62 bonus when you open a new account and start investing. They came up with that amount since they say that banks made $6.462 billion last quarter, so they are offering you a piece of that.

If you have read my previous posts I have been burned doing p2p loans through Prosper.com.

LendingClub has always prided themselves in having a stronger review process. I have a few loans with LendingClub and believe it or not they are all current with no charge offs. I am currently earning a 9.86% return from what they tell me, which if those loans stay current isn’t that bad considering how low interest rates are. I have been debating throwing a little more money into LendingClub but Prosper has left such a bad taste in my mouth I am still on the fence.

Regardless, just remember that if you start p2p lending you are doing so at your own risk. I imagine now that the economy is turing around a bit the chance of defaults is probably much lower than what I went through.

To qualify for the $64.62 you need to open a new account through this promotion link and link a bank account. Once that is complete the bonus will be deposited into your account. You must invest that bonus into lending club loans and cannot withdraw it.

Unfortunetly the link they gave me doesn’t talk about the bonus, but here is the small print I was sent:

$121 Bonus from ING Electric Orange Checking – Black Friday Only!

ING Direct is having a Black Friday Promtion where you can earn a $121 bonus when opening an Electric Orange Account today only.

Here is the promotional detail:

To qualify for the bonus you need to do the following….

Free $10 Amazon.com Giftcard from Coinstar

Coinstar, the self service coin counting machines, always has let you exchange your coins for free when you selected a gift card rather than cash. Well now, through December 6th 2009 when you exchange at least $40 into an Amazon.com giftcard you will also get a bonus $10 Amazon.com giftcard. That is a 25% return on your money. Amazon.com sells so much stuff that this is a no brainer.

Once you exchange the $40 or more for a gift card, just send it the bottom portion of your receipt to get your bonus card. They say it should arrive in 6-8 weeks.
