There is a new Citi Forward promotion where you will get a $200 Restaurant.com gift certificate after you make $100 in purchases with the card by September 15th, 2010.

It’s as simple as that, all you have to do is apply for the card and make $100 in purchases by 9/15/2010. You will receive the gift certificate details by mail 6-8 weeks after you have met the minimum purchase requirement. You then can redeem the gift certificate at restaurant.com.

If you have never bought anything from restaurant.com, they offer discounted dining certificates to restaurants all over the country. In most cases you can find one of your favorites there and get a great deal off of the bill using their service.

The Citi Forward card is a rewards card. You will earn 5x ThankYou® Points for every $1 spent at restaurants, on books, movies and music. You also get 1 reward point for every $1 you spend on all other purchases. Even better is that you can earn up to 2,500 when you sign up for Paperless Statements.

The Citi Forward comes with 0% Intro APR on Balance Transfers for 12 months and 0% Intro APR on Purchases for 7 months. After that, the APR will be 12.99%-19.99%. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. Both the rate and duration of this offer will be based on your creditworthiness.

There is no annual fee for this card.

In addition to the $100 Chase Freedom Bonus, this card is also a cash back rewards card. You will receive 5% cash back from purchases on rotating categories like gas, home improvement and department stores and will receive 1% back on all other purchases. If you were thinking about going after the $100 bonus from the Chase Sapphire Card I posted about earlier, you make think twice. Chase has “elite” version of that card which is offering a $250 bonus. The card is called the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. This card is unique in the fact that you can redeem cash rewards at any increment over $20 dollars. No more waiting to get to that next tier, you can just cash in whenever you want.

This card earns rewards at 1 point per dollar for all purchases, with an added bonus of 2 points per dollar when using the card to purchase airfare through Ultimate Rewards. (See other benefits of the card below)

You will receive 25,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of receiving the card. Those 25,000 points can be redeemed for $250 cash. If you redeem the points for travel you get a 25% bonus, meaning that you can redeem those 25,000 bonus points for a airline ticket worth $312.50. That pretty much equates to a free flight these days!

One thing to note is that there is an $85 annual fee on this card, but that is waived for the first year. I don’t currently have this card, but am thinking about jumping on board. The travel rewards alone are worth it, but when you throw in a potential $250 bonus, it is hard to resist.

The newest rewards card from Chase, the Chase Sapphire Card, has a $100 sign up bonus when you open an account and make your first purchase using the card. After your first purchase you will receive a 10,000 point bonus. You can redeem 2500 points for $25 which gives you an instant $100 bonus. You should receive the points in your account 6-8 weeks after making your first purchase.

The Chase Sapphire card is a no annual fee rewards card that gives you 1% cash back from purchases. Your rewards points never expire. The thing that makes this card unique is that you can redeem the rewards in $1 increments once your total balance is greater than $25.

The Chase Sapphire Card also gives you double points when you purchase airline tickets through Chase’s Ultimate Rewards website. There is also a complimentary Personal Concierge Service where you have 24 hour access “to get restaurant recommendations, help you find the perfect gift and more”.

Bank of America has a new promotion going with their Cash Rewards Visa. When you open a new Cash Rewards Visa at BankofAmerica.com you can get up to $75 in bounus applied to your account.

You will receive a $50 statement credit when you make purchases totaling $50 within the first 60 days of account opening. There is also a $25 statement credit when you enroll your new account in Online Banking within 60 days of the account opening date. The statement credits should appear within 8-12 weeks after you complete the qualifying events.

The Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa is a cash back credit card. You will receive 1% cash back on all purchases using the card. There is a promo offer where you can earn 3% cash back on gas, grocery and drugstore purchases for the first 6 months.

What is unique about this card is that you get a 25% bonus for all cash reward redemptions of $300 or more. So if you wait to redeem your cash back until you have more than $300 available you will get an additional 25% back.

This card also comes with an introductory 0% APR for your first 7 or 10 billing cycles for purchases. The number of billing cycles depends on your credit score when applying. This card has no annual or inactivity fees.

Discover Card has a new promotion where you get 12,000 miles when signing up for the Miles by Discover® Card. To get the 12,000 miles, you need to make 1 purchase every month for 12 months after appying for the card. You will earn 1,000 miles each month the purchase is made, up to 12,000 miles. The 1,000 miles will be posted within 8 weeks after the purchase.

The 12,000 miles can be converted into the following:

$25 Account credit for every 5,000 miles(12,000 miles = $50 Statement Credit + 2,000 miles)

$25 Sign Up Bonus from Costco American Express Card

If you are a Costco member, you may think about signing up for the Costco American Express card. I have been debating this for a while, but have since reviewed their reward tieds and am going to apply.

The card is a cash rewards card that gives you back the following:

Earn 3% cash back for gasoline, for annual gasoline purchases of up to $3,000 (1% thereafter).
Earn 3% cash back for restaurants.
Earn 2% cash back for travel.
Earn 1% cash back everywhere else, including Costco.

Along with a $25 statement credit after your first purchase, this is looking more and more attractive to me. 3% on gas and restaurants is great since that seems to be my biggest daily expenses right now.

The most important thing about this card is that there is no max on how much cash you can earn. A lot of rewards cards are capped at a certain dollar amount per year, so not having to worry about that is very nice. All your rewards are accumulated and posted as a credit on your Febuary statment.

The Costco Card card also acts as your Costco Membership card which keeps you from having to keep your Costco membership card with you all the time.

Another benefit that is pushing me toward this card is the American Express purchase protection plans. Their warranty plan extends the warranty coverage on the item you buy for an additional year. And their purchase protection plan protects covered items for up to 90 days from the date of purchase if it is stolen or accidentally damaged. Those 2 plans really give piece of mind when buying expensive things like electronics, appliances, etc.

Unfortunetly you do need to be a Costco member to sign up for the card, but if you are you should definetly take a look at this, with the decent cash back tiers and buyers protection plans, this card is a great addition to your wallet of you like to shop!!!
