If you are one of the holdouts still not earning cash back on your credit card purchases, you make want to take a look at the HSBC Platinum Cash Back Card.

In my opinion this is the best cash back card and here is why….

This card does not have a pre-spending limit before you can reach earn the 2%. For example like the American Express Blue Cash Card, you first need to spend 6500 on the card before you even qualify for the 5% everyday purchases. In the case of most people, in the long run, they will earn more cash back using the HSBC card from day one. Plus Amex is not accepted everywhere, so you have a better chance of acceptance with this card.

This card pays 2% cash back on everything! No more having to decide what card to use when getting gas, groceries, etc. All purchases made will get you 2% back.

Unlike the Fidelity 2% cash back card, the HSBC Platinum card does not require a brokerage account to be opened. So one less thing to do here.

There is no annual fee with this card, so you pay nothing to have the option to earn 2% cash back.

You can receive a cash back check as soon as your account reaches $25. This limit is a lot lower than other cards that won’t let you access your rewards until the $50 or $75 limit.

I have this card, and it is the only one my wife and I use. We have received over $475 cash back over the two years I have had it. Many people prefer receiving travel rewards, but we have found that there is no substitute to getting a check in the mail. It’s a little something extra that you can use to spend.

The application page for this card had disappeared shortly after I applied for it a few years ago. My thought is that they limit this card to so many people at a time. It is great news that it is now back again. My advice would be to get in on this one right away before they shut it down again. If you currently don’t have a cash back card, or a tiered one you really should take a look at this. For an easy comparison, take the amount of cash back you received on your current card last year, then divide it by the total amount you spend using the card last year. If that number is better than 2%, then you probably won’t need to switch, but I bet in most of your cases, it will be less!

You can find more details and how to aplpy on the HSBC Platinum 2% Cash Back Card Promo page.

After a pretty dry spell for credit card bonuses, Chase has working hard on coming up with great sign up bonuses on their credit cards. Here is another one I just found. When you open a new Chase Freedom Visa credit card, you can receive a $200 cash back once you open a new account. All you need to do is spend $500 within the first three months. This is an $50 improvement from their $150 bonuis that was out earlier. That should be pretty easy to do if you charge your utilities, groceries and gas for a few months.

Along with the great bonus, the Chase Freedom Visa is also a cash rewards card. You earn 5% cash back based on quartly rotating categories. You also earn 1% on everything else that you buy using the card.

There is no annaul fee with this card.

See more details on the Chase Freedom Visa on their promo page.

The Chase Freedom Mastercard is one of those cards that has a great offer if you are looking for a new credit card.

There is a $100 bonus when you spend $500 in the first 3 months after opening the account. And in addition to the bonus, there is a 0% APR for 12 months on Balance Transfers that are made within the first 30 days that the account in open. Note that there is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater, however if you have a balance on another card with a higher interest rate, you will most likely save money moving it to a 0% rate. There is also a promo rate of 0% for 6 months on all purchases made with the card.

The Chase Freedom Mastercard also is a rewards card. It earns cash back based on the type of merchants that you shop at. The card earns 5% cash back up to $100 spent in bonus categories each quarter and 1% cash back on everything else.

There is no annual fee for this card, and once your 12 months are up, the interest rate will be 11.99% – 22.99% based on your credit worthiness.

To see the 5% categories as well as more details on the card, check out the Chase Freedom Mastercard account page.

The Discover More Card is one of the more popular cash back cards out there due to is 5% cash back revolving categories. What makes this an even more popular card is when Discover decides to drop its balance transfer fee when moving balances from another card to the Discover More Card. I haven’t seen a card that offers a fee free balance transfer in a while!

Well that is exactly what is going on right now. When you Apply for the Discover More Card you can transfer a balance with no fees for up to 12 months at a 0% interest rate.

If you have a larger balance that is going to take a longer time to pay down, you might opt for their other promotion where you can get a 0% transfer rate for up to 24 months. This transfer does however include a fee. The fee is 5% of the amount of each transfer made when you use this link to apply.

And for those of you with no balance to transfer, don’t fret! I have an offer for you too. If you apply using this link you can get a $100 cash back when you make $500 in purchases during your first three months with the card.

No matter which way you apply, you will have the benefit of a rewards program that pays 5% cash back in rotating quarterly categories along with 1% cash back on all other purchases. Here is the breakdown on the 5% categories for this year (2011):

January – March: Travel and Restaurants

March: Grocery and Drug Stores

April – June: Home and Fashion

July – September: Gas, Hotels, Movies and Theme Parks

October – December: Restaurants and Fashion

There is no annual fee on the Discover More Card, so what are you waiting for!

If you overdid it during the holiday season, now is the time to start knocking off that debt. The Discover More Card has a promotion going on where you can get a 0% rate on balance transfers for 18 months when you sign up for the card.

Note that there is a 4% balance transfer fee on the balance of the transfer. If you are going to balance transfer for the full 18 months, then the 4% fee is pretty negligible.

0% balance transfer offers are becoming more and more scarce these days as the credit card companies try to find other ways to increase their revenue based on the new consumer card act that was passed last year. If you are needing to transfer some debt at a low interest rate, then this deal could be for you.

Other benefits of the card include the following:

0.00% introductory APR for 12 months from the date of account opening.

5% Cashback Bonus in categories that rotate each quarter

5% to 20% Cashback Bonus through our exclusive online shopping mall

Up to 1% Unlimited Cashback Bonus on other purchases, automatically

Redeem rewards for cash

For more details on this offer, check out the Discover More Card Promo offer details. Make sure to read the “Interest Rates and Interest Charges” section at the bottom of the application so that you are fully aware of the terms and possible fees with this promotion.

The American Express Blue Cash Rewards Card has been a favorite for a long time. It offers one of the higher cash back rates once you reach the $6500 spending limit each year.

Here is how the rewards breakdown works:

For your first $6500 in purchases:
Earn 1% on purchases at supermarkets, gas stations, and drugstores
Earn 0.5% on all other purchases

After you have spend $6500
Earn 5% on purchases at supermarkets, gas stations, and drugstores
Earn 1.25% on all other purchases

You used to have to wait an entire year to get your Blue Cash rewards. They were applied as a statement credit on your account on the anniversary date of the account opening. So then you just ended up having to use the card for purchases to access the reward.

Well American Express has made a change for the better on this card. Now, you can redeem rewards upon request whenever you have accrued 25 reward dollars or more. You no longer need to wait a year and can have access to your rewards immediately.

I know that having to wait an entire year for your rewards was a big reason why people avoided this card. These days most cards give you access to your rewards once you hit a certain dollar amount which makes me think this is why American Express made this change.

Check out the American Express Blue Cash Rewards Card site for more details.
