Zecco New Account $100 Bonus Promotion

Zecco.com, a popular discount broker, is currently offering a $100 bonus when you open a new account. You need to be referred to be eligible for this promotion. You must also fund your new account with $10,000 and leave it in the account for at least 90 days after the account opening date. There is no trading requirement to receive the bonus unlike other brokerage bonuses.

Zecco Trading offers stock traders for a flat rate of $4.95 per trade and options for $4.95 + .65 per contract. They have an ACH feature that lets you move money back and forth between your Zecco account and linked bank account. Zecco also has quite a bit of community tools, where you can see what other traders are buying and selling. This is great if you are new to the stock market as you can follow others to determine your strategy. Another nice thing about Zecco is that there are no minimum balances, inactivity fees or trading requirements on the account, so trade as little or as much as you want as you only need to pay the trading commission.

The Tradeking Refer-A-Friend Promotion is back and this time it is twice as nice as last time. Right now when you open a new Tradeking account from a registered Tradeking account holder you can get $50 bonus. To qualify all you need open a new Tradeking account, deposit at least $1000 within 30 days and then make one trade within 180 days. That is it.

With Tradking’s commission being only $4.95 per trade, this bonus roughly equates to 10 free Tradeking trades if you choose to use it tht way. Note that the minimum funds of $1,000 must remain in the account (minus any trading losses) for a minimum of 180 days or the credit may be surrendered.

No commissions will be charged for trades executed on 8/12/2011. Includes stock trades, option trades, fixed income and no-load mutual fund trades. Index option fees and option contracts fees will not be charged. Regulatory fees and Foreign settlement fees will still apply.

The email also goes on to mention that you will see the trade as normal (with commission added) on Friday, but on Saturday you will see that trade with the commission waived. So don’t worry until Saturday if you still don’t see the commissions waived.

This is obviously in response to the market volatility in the past few days, unfortunately if you are like me, all your money is tied up in stocks that have lost about 20% of their value. But if you are one of the lucky ones with some money to buy and an active Tradeking account, Friday could be a great day for you!

If you were holding out for that $100 Tradeking Promo, you don’t have to wait any longer it is back. All you need to do is the following:

Open a new account using the following link:
Fund the account with at least $2500 within 30 days of opening the account

For those of you that are not familiar with Tradeking, they offer a flat $4.95 commission on stocks and options. Tradeking was founded in 2005 by the founders of Suretrade.com which was eventually sold to TDAmeritrade. All accounts are SIPC protected, so you can be sure that your money is safe.

I’ve had a Tradeking account since 2006 and use it as my primary trading account. Why spend $10 or more for a stock commission with the other guys when Tradeking offers the same service for half as much! There are no account minimums or inactivity fees. (note that in this special case to qualify for the Tradeking Promotion there is a $2500 minimum to get the free $100 but once the 6 months is up, there is no minimum balance). Some other cool features they offer is an ACH feature where you can move money in and out of your linked checking account. There is also a money market sweep that invests your uninvested money in a money market account that earns interest. They also offer loads of educational material to help you understand the basics of investing with stocks and options in case you are just starting out. I learned how to trade options with Tradeking very quickly using their helpful training tools. You can also send them any paper stock certificates you have to them and they will add them to your account for free. I had to use this feature once with a stock purchase plan I had for a company I worked at. It was a very simple process and I was able to trade those stocks electronically in less than 2 weeks.

You have the option to get paid via Paypal, Amazon.com giftcard or donate that money to the red cross. All you have to do is select the link below, give them your name and email, then start referring. It will then ask you to set a password for your account. To qualify for a referral your friend needs to open an Optionshouse account within 3 months of the referral email date. They need to fund the account with at least $1000 for a cash account or $2000 for a margin account. You should receive the $150 bonus within 60 days of your friend funding their account. If you choose the 30 free trades, they are good within 6 months of your friend funding his account.

If you trade a lot, 30 free trades in 6 months is a great deal, however if you can refer a bunch of people, then getting $150 per person is an even better deal! It is totally your choice on how you want to do this. I have an Optionshouse account and use it primarily for options, they have a really cool interface that allows you to see everything in one place. But even though they are great with options, don’t discount their $3.95 commission for stock purchases, they are one of the lowest in the industry and have great execution times.

OptionsXpress has a flat stock commission of $9.95 per share and an options commission of $1.25 per contract ($12.95 minimun). OptionsXpress’ commission used to be $14.95 per trade, so they have recently lowered their commissions to become more competitive. They also have a very intuitive user interface and smart phone apps for iPhone and Android so you can trade from anywhere.

Another thing to note is that OptionsXpress is merging with Charles Schwab so you don’t have to worry about the long term viability of the company as they will be folded under a very powerful brokerage house.

I use my OptionsXpress account for options trading since their commissions are so competitive. I have never really had any issues with them. Anytime I need a higher level of options trading access, I call them up and they add it immediately. Like every other discount broker, they offer a free ACH feature where you can transfer money to and from a linked account. No more sending in checks and waiting for your money to be deposited.

Tradeking has started up another refer a friend bonus. This time it is a $50 bonus with a new account. Unfortuently the $100 refer a friend bonus has expired, but $50 is nothing to ignore if you are looking to open a new brokerage account.

To qualify for the bonus, here is what you need to do:

3) Deposit at least $1000 into the account within 30 days of opening
4) Make one trade in your account within 180 days of opening the account

Your bonus will post to your account shortly after your first trade. There are a couple things to note on this promotion. You need to keep the $1000 in your account for a minimum of 180 days. The referral bonus must also stay in the account for 180 days.

One of the great things about this deal is that once you open an account, you can immediately start referring your friends. They will get a $50 bonus as well as you for referring them. According to their site, there is no limit to the number of referral bonuses you can receive for referring your friends.

I am a loyal Tradeking user and have switched back to using them for all my trading since Zecco.com increased their trading commissions. I never really liked Zecco’s interface, but used them as they were cheaper. Well now that they have raised their commissions, I am back to using Tradeking.

Tradeking Extends $100 Bonus

Tradeking has extended their $100 new account bonus an extra two weeks until April 14th. So if you are looking to open a new brokerage account and would like an extra $100 bonus to do so, then Tradeking may be for you. Details on the bonus here. Also note that if you open your account, you can refer others and receive a $100 bonus when your friends sign up.

For those of you that are not familiar with Tradeking they are a discount broker with a low commission of only $4.95 per stock trade. They also recently have adjusted their options trading prices to be more competitive as well. If you purchase only 8 contracts you only pay the $4.95 base commission plus $.65 per contract, if you buy over 8 contracts then you pay a base of $8.95 plus $.15 per contract. As you can see, if you purchase many contracts at one time Tradeking’s options pricing tier can save you hundreds of dollars over many purchases.

I am a loyal Tradeking user and have moved most of my stuff from Zecco after their removal of their free monthly trades. As the market turns around and the economy starts to pick up, I am hoping that Tradeking will get my retirement moving even faster in the right direction!
