25,000 Bonus Points from Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

July 6, 2009

Update 2/1/2010: The 25,000 point bonus has been reduced to 10,000 points. That still gets you $100 when opening a new account. See the updated Chase Sapphire Bonus post for more details.

card_ChaseSapphireThe Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has a promo where you can get 25,000 points after your first purchase. You will receive the 25,000 points 6 to 8 weeks after your first purchase. In addition to the 25,000 bonus points, you will automatically receive 10,000 bonus points annually when you make purchases of $50,000.

You can redeem the 25,000 points for a round trip ticket on most airlines. You can also use the points for gift cards which can get you up to $250 in various cards.

The Chase Preferred Sapphire card earns one point for every one dollar you spend. What is interesting about this card is that you can transfer points 1-to-1 to hotel and airline rewards programs. So if you are needing some points to get a reward, you can use the points from the Chase Preferred Sapphire card to top off your account.

There is a $95 annual fee on this card, but it is waived for the first year, so keep that in mind if you sign up for it.

Note that the website says that you can upgrade any of your current Chase cards to the Sapphire Card, but the upgrade card isn’t eligible for the 25,000 bonus points

I am unable to use this link to sign up for the card.
I found a link to the Chase Sapphire at chase.com, but not the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Please provide a link to sign up for the card! I’m interested.
    Thanks for your help!

Lisa, just click on the “Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Offer Details” link at the bottom of the post. It will take you to the Chase Sapphire Home page. On the far right you will see a “Get the Card” button. Click on that and you can sign up.
