Need More Money From The ATM?

May 30, 2008

I ran into an issue yesterday when I needed to make a large ATM withdrawal to covera down payment on a used car, which I am going to put up for sale on eBay. I thought I had the cashiers check for the right amount, however they told me the wrong amount by $425.

They wouldn’t accept a check (this used car dealer, which will remain nameless, is a bit shady, and most likely not reporting their earnings!). So I needed $425 and thought, the ATM is my only option since the banks were already closed. Well after trying to get the money out of the ATM, I soon realized that Chase will only let me take out $200 per day. Let me tell you, after having an account with them for over15 years and always have between $2000 - $4000 in there they would only let me access around 10% of it. I realized that this is most likely for security reasons, however to me it is very inconvenient.

I decided to call them the next day. To my surprise, the rep immediately increased my ATM daily withdrawal amount to $2000. I didn’t realize that they could set this amount per account. I am also curious if there is a upper limit on the ATM that you are using. Cause taking out $2000 could clean an ATM out of all the money it has in it. I’ll have to try this out sometime.

If you are ham stringed by a low ATM withdrawal amount, a simple call to your bank could get you a higher limit. The only problem is that if someone were to hold me at gun point at an ATM, they would cash out! So beware of the consequences of a high ATM withdrawal limit! In my case, it is worth the risk.

Reasons Your 2008 Tax Rebate Might Be Delayed

May 27, 2008

Are you asking yourself “I was supposed to get my tax rebate already but haven’t! Where is it?!?!?! As the majority of rebates have been transmitted by the IRS, we are starting to see a few reasons you may not have gotten it by the time you expected. Here are some that affect the most people:

1) If you used a 3rd party tax preparation company and received an advance on your rebate from them, you will most likely get a paper check from the Government for your rebate. This is because your tax return was sent to them to pay off your tax return loan. The rebate will go the same place.

2) If you owed money to the Federal Government for your 2007 taxes, and you paid it via direct debit, unless your software specifically asked you about direct deposit for the rebate, you will get a paper check, since the IRS did not get the account info that you wanted to direct deposit the rebate.

3)If you filed your 2007 tax return just before the April 15th deadline, it is possible that the IRS did not process your return prior to April 15th. If this is the case, you will receive your rebate via check. I have not seen an actual cut off date where if you submitted your tax return after that date your rebate might be delayed.

4)If you opted to pay your filing fees using the proceeds from your refund, you will receive your rebate in the form of a check. It is best to pay those fees with a credit card to keep them seperate from your rebate as this changes the way your tax return was sent to you which in turn affects your rebate.

If you think you are going to get your rebate via a check. Check out the 2008 Tax Stimulus Rebate Payout Schedule to see when you might receive your rebate.

You can also use the Rebate Status Tool to check the status of your rebate.

BANS Profit Update

May 22, 2008

I received a few emails from my previous post about Making Money Online with Ebay asking me how much I have made so far.

Last month I made $138.90 off of 10 stores. I only added one more store this month since I have been real busy at my day job. As of 5/20 I have made $172.38 and there are still 10 days left to go this month.

So I am seeing my monthly earnings increase which is a good thing. And to be honest, all I did was create one more store and did NOTHING with my 10 stores from last month. Ebay sure has a way to convert people into sales.

My plan is to add another 10 stores this month and see what the results are. If you are interested in trying this out, read my earlier post about Build a Niche Store for more details. Also, I am willing to help anyone with any questions on it, so please contact me if you do.

Household Bank 2% Cash Rebate Card

May 20, 2008

Household bank has had their 2% cash rebate card out for a while, but it was only by invitation only. Well is seems that now it is available to anyone via this Sign Up Page.

This card gives you 2% back on all your purchases up to $400 cash back per year. So that means you have a max spending on this card for $20,000 per year, after that you do not earn a rebate. If you spend more than $20,000 per year on your credit card you may think about another cash back card to maximize your earnings.

This is the best overall cash rebate card that doesn’t require you to have a minimum spending like the Amex Cash Rebate Card to get the top tier rebates. There is also a Countrywide 2% cash back card available, but you have to have a savings account through Countrywide with a minimim of $10,000 in it. You redeem your cash rewards in $25 increments.

One thing to note on this card, it says the annual fee ranges from $0 - $79. This is the range for all their cards. The 2% cash back card has no annual fee. I applied for the card yesterday and on the page before you accept the terms and conditions, you see it says ANNUAL FEE: 0$. Make sure that you see this prior to accepting the terms and conditions.
