Save Money While Shopping Online
April 15, 2008
With the invention on the Internet, I hardly ever buy anything for stores like Best Buy or Circuit City as they always tend to be a bit more expensive than places like Amazon.com or Buy.com, especially since they usually offer free shipping. Before I buy anything I always check out how much the item I want is going for at various online stores.
There has also been an explosion of “Bargain” sites. These sites usually report all the great deals that day from a variety of online retailers. Here are a few sites I check everyday to see what deals are out there:
Ok, so you found what you are going to buy. Now why not check to see if there is a coupon out there. Many sites offer free shipping with coupons. There are many free coupon sites out there, you just search on the store you are buying from and get the coupon code to use while checking out. The main ones I use are:
So you have the place where you are going to buy the item and a coupon, now check to see if you can get a rebate back from the store you will be shopping at. Rebate sites are free and they allow you to collect cash based on your purchases at certain retailers. Here are the rebate sites I use:
- Mr. Rebates (CBS 2 Chicago – News Story)
- EBates
There are many ways on the Internet to shop and save much more than you would if going to an actual brick and mortar store. Yes it takes a little time to do the research, but over time the savings can really add up. And the best part is all of this is free and you can’t beat that!
