Amazon has a deal going where if you purchase the Toshiba HD-A3 720p/1080i HD DVD Player for $199 you will receive 10 HD DVD’s free.

So assuming that each DVD averages $20, you are essentially getting $200 free which washes the cost of the DVD player. Plus since HD DVD is still new, most of the free movies to choose from are new releases. So no, you are not going to find Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure just yet!
